Eating and drinking our way in Siargao

The waves were the main reason that enticed use, to go to Siargao, but the weekly parties at different destinations, drinks, and specialty eats we found in the internet made the trip much more interesting.

Our 5 day trip to one of the most coveted destinations by Europeans in particular was intended to be a much needed Husband and wife time. The last time we travelled before our little one was in Taiwan before the pandemic. I wrote an article about how we accidently ate someone else’s food here. In hindsight, visiting Siargao would really require at least a 2 week trip to truly indulge in all that it has to offer. At the very least, we have more reasons to go again. And since we were inevitably got hit by the all-too-common flight cancelation, we got a coupon from our flight carrier that we could use if we want to give it another whirl.

Here are a two winners in our trip! There is not much detail that I could put out here since I was not taking notes. I’m leaning towards the vibe that I felt as we went through these eats and drinks.

CEV Siargao

Hands down, this place takes the top spot. Remove all your fears of redundancy. The similar techniques of marinating seafoods through citrus brings you to two different delicious destinations. I have forgotten what the catch of the day fish that they have used in our dishes, but i remembered just taking multiple pauses in between bites just because of how good it is.

We had the Pacifico (left plate) for the ceviche, and General Luna (Kinilaw) on the right. Sour, fresh, and bonded impeccably well together with all the other ingredients.

Located at Tourism Road, Brgy. Catagnan (Beside Kudo Surf), General Luna, Surigao Del Norte, Philippines. See more of there updates here.

Cosmic

We went to this uber flavorful vegan spot as that was suggested to us by one of my wife’s friends, and I’m glad we did. All of the dishes that we tried like the sisig and adobo packed a flavorful punch. It does not need to mask itself as a vegan substitute dish to Filipino classics, but it could definitely be a stand alone dish that entices the palettes.

Located in Purok 3 (Poblacion 3), General Luna, Surigao Del Norte, Philippines. Check them out here

There is definitely an abundance of food places to go and visit Siargao, and I have a feeling it will just keep flowing like the waves and alcohol that's already prevalent in this beautiful island.
