A family winter special to Hong Kong Disneyland

The grandeur of spending the holiday season at Disneyland has captivated our little family. Sans the snow, the crisp cold air has a slight difference that I cannot pinpoint with the ones we have in the northern hemisphere.  A few features that we liked: Disney princesses that you have to line up for a photo op, riding the train to see the whole resort, happy kids on the left and crying kids on the right, and the special bilingual holiday shows we got to watch.

Some features that we didn’t like: The rides that we didn’t get to line up for because our baby is still… a baby, Overpriced goods that we still gobbled up because of the allure of getting a Disney exclusive item, and the god-forsaken holiday lines that comes with an extra wave of tourists from all over Asia (including us!).

Alas, a feature that is also an important aspect of any holiday outing with a family is the food. The logistics of making sure my happy wife and baby are fed promptly and served quality Disney-inspired food will test your organization and time-management skills.

We ate a lot of delicious eats in Disneyland that we weren’t able to capture on our phones. Here are a few that we were able to get.

Turkey Leg

Did you really go to Disneyland if you didn’t have the turkey leg? As much as this camera appealing leg looks good on the gram, A perfect hunk of meat to gnaw while waiting in line for the rides, but nothing to special taste wise.

A novelty at best for me.

Olaf Marshmallow Hot Chocolate

Creamy, foamy, and velvety. It was perfect for a winter holiday sweet treat. The chocolate was rich with a touch of sweetness. Olaf’s head on top of the foam fits perfectly as he melts away the stress of a topsy turvy day.

Corner Cafe’s holiday special kids meal.

A kid’s delight. Spaghetti with meatballs, chocolate cake, and a pieces of fruit to balance it all.. She ate 15 percent of it and played with the rest. That’s a win in my book. at the end of the day, it was the experience having a nice holiday dinner at disneyland. A memory worth cherishing.

A visit to Hong Kong Disneyland with the family, done! Check out the website for any special deals for you and your family here.
